How to Use

  1. Click Switch On to complete the circuit — current flows and the lamp lights up.
  2. Click + Add Load to connect extra appliances, increasing the current. Watch the heat bar beneath the fuse rise.
  3. Add a second load — the current exceeds the fuse rating, the fuse overheats and blows, breaking the circuit.
  4. Click Replace Fuse to reset and try again.

Suggested Activity

Before adding loads, predict what will happen to the lamp, the current, and the fuse as more appliances are connected. Record the current at each stage and identify the exact point the fuse blows. Consider: why is the fuse placed before the lamp, and what would happen to the rest of the circuit if it weren’t there?
